I would like to thank Joseph Cognard for sending me an ARC copy of 'Three Twigs for the Campfire'. Brought back a few memories of when I was in my teenage years, sitting around the campfire!
I did enjoy the stories told by the three children, Jack, Chelsea and Billy. Loved the illustrations, which I always enjoy seeing in a book. It gives a personal touch! My favourite story out of the three was Jacks. Perhaps because my grandson is very much into anything to do with dragons.
I know it sounds strange, but as much as I enjoyed reading this book as it was very suspenseful, I just didn't get the whole point of the story and was confused in certain parts. Loved the whole idea of two girls whose mother went missing (dead) and lived in a couple of rooms and were afraid to go outside. I do thank Tim Major for gifting me an e-copy of Carus & Mitch in exchange for an honest review.

‘Sing for Us’ is one of those books that I did not want to end, and if I were able, would have given more than 5 stars. Totally hooked, I could well imagine myself amongst the wounded men at the Confederate Hospital. As a former carer, there were times when I could have easily slipped into Letha Bartlett shoes.
I never like writing a synopsis of a story, as I don’t like spoiling for others. Based on a true story and without giving too much away... Letha Bartlett and her gentle touch brings comfort and courage to the soldiers in her care. When Granville Pollard enters the ward, Letha is captivated not only by his cultured bearing, but by his singing voice. A man who was emotionally and physically crippled, having lost his fiancée and both of his feet.
This is the first book that I have read by Steven Wise and it will not be the last. I received this ebook through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book in the Goodreads First Reads Giveaway.
This book was an ok read and I did struggle to finish reading it. I do like to try different books from my usual genre, but perhaps this was one book that wasn't really for me unfortunately.
This book could have been so much better, had it not been for the amount of mistakes. Perhaps it could have been poor translation? This diet wouldn't really suit me, as I will not eat anything containing herbs or grains and I could never give up red meat.
I won this book via Librarything.
I would like to thank L E Howel for sending me a copy of Planetfall. I am always up for trying something new and this book didn't disappoint. There isn't much that I can add that hasn't already been said, but I do recommend to give this book a try. I will now look forward to reading more from this author
I would like to thank Doug Hantke for sending me an e-copy of his book 'No Motive for Murder'. There are not many books that grip me from virtually the first page, but this book did. I will not write what the story is about, as I do not like to spoil for others to enjoy and one can easily read the blurb. Full of twists and loved the ending with the final twist. For anyone who enjoys a good serial killer book, I do recommend you give this book a try.
It shows just how little I know in regards to the 'other victims' of the Holocaust. I know a fair amount of what went on during the Nazis' Occupation, but I have never really given it any thought about mixed races and biracial children. I have never heard of the expression 'Rhineland's Bastards'. I have seen a few sites where there was once a concentration camp and shall be visiting Auschwitz later this year and will remember what I have learned upon reading this book today, and say a silent prayer to all.
Rachael JanLynnette McCormick has written an excellent story about a young girl, Namib. Although a short story, I do recommend to all.
I would like to thank the author for sending me an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Just reading the synopsis, I could tell that this book was going to be an excellent read. I do not like to tell what a story is about, as not only one can read the blurb for themselves, but it can also spoil the story. I hope to read more books by this author and would recommend to all. Please be warned that the subject matter could upset some. I would like to thank Roger Rapel for sending me this e-copy, which I received through LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review.
Although this e-book was something different to what I usually read, I can honestly say that this is one of the best books that I have read for some time. From the first few lines, this book soon had me turning the pages. I never like to write a blurb as to what happens, as not only one can read the synopsis for themselves, but all too often it spoils the story. Loved the characters and will admit that the ending had me wiping away a tear. Shall be reading more by this author.
I received a copy of this ebook via LibraryThing.
This was a very quick read, with lots of useful hints to help those with catarrh and sinusitis etc. I am fortunate that I do not have problems, but my husband is a sufferer. An operation never helped. Most of the tips in this book have already been tried by my husband and has given him very good relief.
This is an interesting collection of short stories and quite a quick read. Very imaginative and I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
So many unusual ice creams and hope to make some of them soon. The instructions are easy to follow and shouldn't be too much of a problem when weighing out the ingredients. Here in the UK, it is unusual to use cup measurements.
